We Support the Sustainable Development Goals adopted by The United Nations (SDGs & UN)
BurongDhevi is delighted to be a part of the society. The passion of our societal creativity is to support the provision of decent work and to bring happiness to our elderly weavers, mostly classified as village farmers. This is to improve the quality of people’s life, their living environment, sustained income with more development opportunities for them. The implementation of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), to transform our world endorsed by the world leaders in September 2015 at the United Nations General Assembly), is one of our inspirations to work with the ISAN rural communities on creating jobs - from an individual to a societal level model - for sustained economic growth as defined by Goal 8 of the 17 Global Goals that embrace the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
Quality of Life in Community
BurongDhevi community products are not only traditional craft heritage but they also help and promote the people in our local community for a better quality of life in all essential contexts through sustainable earnings from income-generating employment opportunities of their decent work, elderly people in particular. This is to encourage sustainable economic growth in our local communities, consistently.
Community Products Hand-woven natural dyed indigo cotton shawls & Hand-woven natural dyed cotton plaid shawls
BurongDhevi offers high quality products of luxury handwoven natural dyed cotton shawls in the classic colour in a range of indigo and plaid designs for ladies and gentlemen to wear for the special events. Our exclusive products are made of heavy quality thread-count 100% pure cotton on a traditional single box flying shuttle, making them to become thick, soft and durable.
Newly established in 2020, “BurongDhevi” meaning “the Queen of the Peacocks” is a privileged Thai brand for the creation of traditional cotton weaving. Our main purpose is to preserve the cultural heritage of the art of crafted weaving from our natural-dyed indigo cotton shawls & natural-dyed cotton plaid shawls with the best quality elaborately presented by BurongDhevi London Designer.
The name of “BurongDhevi” is especially given to us by Dr. Wattana Pareesri, Director of the Thabo Crown Prince Hospital. The origin of BurongDhevi was based on strong beliefs with the spirituality of a civilized community related to the historic legend, faith, holiness, supernatural and tradition found in ancient landmarks and migration literatures of ISAN tribal minorities near a middle part of the Mekong River, located at Barn Kok-Korn, “Vieng Nokyoong” or “Vieng Mong”, Thabo District, Nongkhai Province. Evidence suggests that this ancient town was built during the Tawaravadee Ancient Era. The symbolic meaning of the peacock in this regard, therefore, has references as well as beliefs to royalty, integrity, eternity, abundance, grace, beauty, wealth, prosperity, power, prestige and success - respectively.
Archaeological sites lavishly decorated with peacock reflect a mutual appreciation of the Buddhist artwork that symbolises royalty, purity, power, morality, abundance, nature and forgiveness as seen in religious sites, for example, the “Phra Chedi Nok Yoong” (Peacock Stupa), located in front of the royal temple of Luang Pho Phra Choa Ong Tue at Wat Sri Chompoo Ong Tue, Ban Nam Mong, Thabo District, Nong Khai Province.
The meaningful and symbolism of peacock encompasses unique traditions, beliefs and practices of the Thai legacy and culture.
The “Mora Chadok Jataka”, a Thai Buddhist literature, illustrated that the “Maorapavitr Kata” or the “Golden Peacock Incarnation” was used for prayers for protection in the presence of danger.
In the capital of ancient Lana Kingdom in northern Thailand, peacocks are regarded as decorative clothes for the northern notable women with power, beauty, grace, superior status and prestige.
Central to legacy, history, tradition, faith and meaningful symbolism of peacock, these culturally significant elements have inspired BurongDhevi to create the privileged designs & crafts elaborately presented by our local weavers with their knowledge inheritance transforming into a unique pattern that has been harmonised with Buddhists’ Principles.
From a dignified meaning of the Buddhist legacy of literature, ancient history and historical landmarks with a symbolic significance related to peacock, these have been our inspiration to the point of preserving the art of traditional cotton handweaving as well as creating a unique culture and its values to society with great respect to the peacock symbolism as the Queen of the Peacock with its genuine representation of natural beauty, refined grace, timeless elegance and sophisticated simplicity of handicraft weaving for qualities of hand-woven natural dyed indigo cotton shawls and hand-woven natural dyed cotton plaid shawls proudly brought to you by a group of our BurongDhevi elderly ladies with their expertise.

Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS) or Laparoscopy (Keyhole Surgery)
The Procedure: Minimally invasive surgery (MIS) or Laparoscopy (keyhole surgery) is an innovative endoscopic surgery. During laparoscopy, the surgeon makes a small cut (incision), usually in your abdomen and/or pelvis. Small, surgical instruments will be inserted through the incision and the surgeon can guide them to the right place using the view from the laparoscope. The laparoscope relays images to a television monitor in the operating room, giving the surgeon a clear view of the treatment area. Once identified and in place, the surgical instruments can be used to carry out the required procedure.
The advantages of this latest innovative technique over traditional open surgery include less pain and bleeding after the operation, reduced scarring, a shorter stay and faster recovery time for the patient.
